The story here is that until recently I have lived in Ohio my whole life; in three different cities, but never too far from my home of Massillon, Ohio, and I never really thought of being anywhere else. I assumed I would live close to my family, get married, have children and continue the plan I had of living comfortably- securely. Over the years God has tweeked this plan, though not too far from what I had originally had in mind. That is, until I visited Redding, California in May of 2011, just after finishing my Master’s degree in counseling. I was in a place where I was not sure how or if I wanted to use the degree I had worked for three years to earn, and so came here to visit one of my best friends, and along the way experience a church called Bethel to see if it would give me any insight into what my life would look like. What you should know is that Bethel Church has a ministry which fiercely goes after the Kingdom of Heaven, and it is obvious. There is an atmosphere at Bethel that feels peaceful, loving, and courageous, and the Spirit of God moves to bring healing, salvation, and just to encounter His people! After being in Redding and around Bethel for a week there was a passion stirred in me that I can now identify as simply a desire to closely, deeply, and joyfully encounter God.
So four months later I moved from the comforts of Ohio to Redding with four suitcases, my iPod, and only enough money to last me for about three weeks. This blog is for my family, best friends, and church family back home who have prayed for me and supported me my entire life. This adventure would not be possible without you, and so I feel indebted to share it with you. My heart is for revival, so let us see His Kingdom come!
Love changes everything.
